False positive on a flu test?

Took my daughter to the urgent care because yesterday she got the flu shot and then 10 minutes later we found out her brother has covid, she started feeling sick this morning, got tested and tested positive for flu and covid ): so far out of the 4 of us shes the only one who got the shot yesterday and also is the only one who tested positive for the flu, im so confused 🥲

Maybe she is positive for the flu because of the flu shot since it was just the day prior?

Ugh apparently those things are going around it sucks. So did you take both tests? And it was negative for flu? I tested at home with the Covid test and it was positive. But I’m wondering if it’s flu instead like would it pick up the flu or just Covid

@Gabrielle so they swabbed her nose not well at all because she wouldnt let them, it came back positive for Covid which we were expecting but then it also came back positive for flu a and im wondering if its a false positive either because she got her flu shot yesterday or because it was a bad swab

I tested positive for covid at home and at the urgent i only tested positive for covid, no flu, same with my husband and son. My daughter is the only one who tested positive for the flu

The flu shot does not and can not give you the flu. This is appears to be an unfortunate coincidence :( the vaccine takes about 2 weeks for offer protection.

It’s probably more useful to spend energy on what you know. She’s poorly, give her cuddles fluids and whatever she will eat xx
