Poo leaking out of legs of nappy

My 3.5 month old is in size 1 nappies and lately when she does a poo it leaks out the legs of the nappy onto her clothes. It especially happens when in her car seat. Is this because they are too small now? They still seem to have a fair bit of room left in them though.

My little one has just turned 4 months and is in size 2 going into size 3 id suggest moving into size 2 and take into account the weight that nappies say on them x

@Molly My girl is 4.8kg, the size 1 is up to 5kg so probably time to size up.

I moved mine into size 2 (now 5.5kg) but when she’s sat in a chair seat or her bouncer it leaks out of the legs and the top, even if there isn’t that much in there!

@Claire mine always happens in her car seat, I’m sick of having to change her multiple times a day and trying to get the poo stains out her clothes is a nightmare.

Defo time to size up! I’ve just had to size up my son to 3 but he’s a chunk!

@Rachel don't follow the weight guide to a tee is what I learnt! My girl was in size 1 and they would leak, didn't realise at the time that is was an indication she should go up a size :) now she's in size 2 and much happier

My baby is almost 6 kg now and we are in size 3. I would definitely size up. It's better to give them a bigger nappy than one that just about fits.

I don't follow the size on the diaper. It's nt wrking for me. My baby is 10wks, n size 2 always leak ( backwards) whenever he does a poo So i move to sz3 . It's better to just use a bigger one to save clothes being soiled with yellow poo .

@Justyna ine is 6.2. Wev moved to sz 3 too

My little boy always leaks whenever he needs to size up. My 3.5mo is now is size 3 x

My 3.5 month old has been in size 3s for a few weeks now

My 4 month has moved to size 3. Again same issue of poo almost leaking out the sides the bigger nappy contains it. For poo stains try to get stain remover on it quickly or even if not, I've had great success using the brand "elbow grease" stain remover as a soap bar! Way better than powder types just we the fabric, rub the bar of stain remover on and rub with your hands or fabric together and usually even bad pop stains lift off infront of your eyes. xx

@Molly @Claire @Shanika @Julia @Justyna @Lola @Jodey @Pam what brand of nappies is everyone using. I used Tesco with my first and am using them again, but not sure I like them much anymore?

I use tesco and sometimes Morrisons or ASDA

I actually find tesco fred and flo the best from the cheap nappies. I didnt try sainsburys but did all the rest and I also like pampers. Kit and kin are great but pricey!

I use the Fred and Flo Tesco ones too, I agree with @Justyna they are the best nappies. At least they work very well for us :)

Mines been on size 3 since 12 weeks, he's not a big baby either but we had the same... He's about 6kg 25th percentile x

My girl is in size 3, I would upsize x

@Rachel i only got a pack of Aldi's while prepping for his arrival. But right now. I have all sorts of diapers of different sizes which i received as gifts . So far, I think Pampers is d best among d ones i have v used

My 4 month old is only a little guy and he’s in size 3 pampers. Moved him up because of leaks.

@Rachel I’m pampers. Tried a few others and they were not good!

Defo size up, my 15 week old is in size 2 but I’ll be sizing up soon

My daughter is small, 16 weeks and less than 13lb but we’ve moved up to size 3 this week x

I’d say defo size up my sons 4 months old and on size 4! He’s chunky x
