Boots ordering Gatwick

So I’m thinking of doing an order with Boots to Gatwick for day of flight. I don’t think we’ll have enough hold luggage and begrudge spending another £80 on another bag! But I’m really worried with ordering incase anything is missing etc. Has anyone ever had problems with getting a boots order? Was it all there? Did they have it on the day of collection ready and waiting? Also, if you do order, what do you do once you’ve picked it up as I’m thinking a pack of nappies, 3 tubs of formula and pouches of food plus snacks etc is not all going to fit into our hand luggage to take on to the plane? Thank you in advance x

Not ordered personally myself but another peanut mum had commented before saying how orders have been missing so not to rely on this service.

@Samina Thank you! This is my biggest fear, may just have to suck it up and pay for an extra bag so I don’t have to worry about the weight! Would rather the holiday goes smoothly than to have a massive hiccup of no order at the start!

I either had 2 things missing... or the paper bags they had broke on the plane and it fell out. Unfortunately check in took forever because of a delayed connection (loads of people skipping the queue) and 2 Spanish women arguing about having less than 6 months on their passport... so we didn't really have time to check etc. Bring a big shopping bag to put it all in, they only had paper bags we could buy which ripped. It comes in boxes and they'll open it there if you want. Luckily it wasn't anything for baby or too important, just a detangling spray and a face cream. The nappies, wipes, her body wash, and baby snacks were all there. You don't have to put it in your hand luggage - that's the benefit of collecting post-security, it's not bound by the same hand luggage restrictions. It's no different than going in duty free and buying a bunch of things :)

Boots usually holds your order for a few days so I would recommend putting the ‘pick up day’ a day or two before your actual flight incase of any delays on delivery too x

I just got back from my holiday leaving from Gatwick and we did a click and collect order - the Oder got split into 2 and one half was delayed so it meant we were missing lots. Annoying as they didn’t have all of the missing bits in store so we had to go without. I would say put your order through with as much time as possible to avoid this happening to you 😩 xx

I don’t recommend. I ordered nappies, wipes, Calpol, Milton spray, etc… to come on a Saturday and I was flying on the Thursday. It said they’d hold the order for 5days. I didn’t get notification the order arrived on sat, sun, mon, tues or wed. Phoned the customer service number and store they said they had no idea. I made other arrangements and stuffed my suitcase and hand luggage bag with as much as I could fit. When I got there, the order was actually there but not scanned somewhere. I couldn’t physically carry it as I had so much so Had asked for refund. Took ages because airport store didn’t stock some of items I ordered. If you do order, bring a strong bag because they bring the order in standard big cardboard box. Which is very sensible given any orders are going on a plane. The stores only have those paper bags which are likely to break.

We always do this and select a collection day a few days before your flight so it is definitely there for your flight. They don't need to fit in your hand luggage if you collect after security, you can just carry them on, make sure you take a shopping bag though as they usually come in a massive box

Thank you so much everyone! I will give it a thought as to whether or not to risk it🙈 xx
