Pillow/Duvet Transition

Can anyone share any tips on helping 2 year old get used to a pillow? We’ve tried the last few nights and currently he’s asleep with the pillow pushed against his bum so definitely hasn’t grasped it’s for his head! We wanted to try a pillow before introducing a duvet when it gets a little bit warmer but I I honestly don’t know how that will go, he’s such a wriggler! Has anyone else experienced the same or are we better holding off until we look to move him into a big boy bed… which I don’t think will be for a while yet! Thanks :)

Can you take it in your living room and use it when reading books / watching tv so he gets used to it and knows what it’s for? I would keep trying ☺️

Just keep going! My son has used a duvet and pillow since 13 months and it’s definitely something that you just have to keep going with. My son still moves around at night but he’s now at the stage where if he wakes up and he’s not on the pillow or under the duvet he knows to put it back over himself and put his head back on his pillow. He will get used to it x

Have you tried putting the pillow under the sheet so he can’t move it? We did that with my daughter and we still do it now. No chance of it going over their head that way aswell

I think I'd personally just wait! Some children just don't like having a pillow. We've only now introduced one as we noticed our little girl was putting her teddy under her head in bed sometimes

If LO is happy without then I don't see a reason to force it? 🤷🏼‍♀️
