I bought one of those suckers you can fill with fruit and stuff at first, I then moved on to things that dissolve in the mouth like the melts in the baby section, I then slowly moved on to toast and giving her fruit or veg in strips. I stuck with strips for a while as it gives them chance to hold them. I then went for purees which I slowly started to make myself that were a bit chunkier but still soft like veg soups x
The baby led weaning made easy book is amazing if that’s the route you want to go x So far my lo has had; broccoli, sweet potato, yogurt, porridge, banana, pear, avocado and toast. Alongside mashed versions of the things I’ve mentioned x You don’t necessarily need a baby blender, you can use any kind of blender even hand ones
@Louise thank you! Is your little one same age?
Another vote for solids starts, you do not need to pay for a subscription to access the part where it tells you how to serve and cut different types of food. It’s been amazing so far x
@Yasmin yes! He turned 6 months on Saturday x
We started with a single vegetable blended at a time.any hand blender will do. I got a cheap £6 one and it's amazing. You can always then put it through a sive after to make it smoother.
Hand blender from Asda for £10. Started off blending our dinners, veg pasta etc with a little water in it to make it less thick

My girl was 6 months last week and I went straight for baby led weaning and I just give her some vegetables every day! Her first was banana (because she stole it) then lots of broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, chicken, steak, gammon, yoghurts, weetabix etc. I just use solid starts to make sure it’s chopped properly. She puts it straight in her mouth but doesn’t swallow much yet 😅
We're doing a mix of Ella's kitchen and Joe Wicks, bought the books second hand and you can also sign up online. Using start for life website too.
