Daycare or Babysitter?

Which is better financially? I’ll be having a baby in May but will need childcare starting in September. She’ll be around 4 months old and I’m trying to figure out what is the best option for us that we can afford. Husband and I will most likely both be going back to work around that time.

If you do daycare she’ll get pretty sick until around 3 years old so someone will need to be available to pick up and care for her when she’s home. Nanny the first 2 years if you can swing it. Daycare on its own is cheaper but not when you consider back up care costs. All comes down to your specific situation too (family help etc)

It all depends! Childcare can be expensive in San Diego. Having a caretaker might work better for you and your family. If you do hire someone — you may want others lined up in case the caretaker gets sick. The chances of germs spreading is also less! Your comfortable with someone in your home and their comfortable with cameras. Many things to think about!

Daycare would be cheaper but babysitter is better quality
