Everything has changed and I’m lost!

My 2 year old son doesn’t like his almost 1 year old sister all of a sudden this all started around late November. He’s constantly whining and crying when she makes noises trust to play or comes near him and even sometimes makes eye contact it’s a meltdown. He can’t talk (we are working on it) he’s not eating hardly anything that’s not fruit or goldfish. Has a meltdown any time we get him to sit and eat at the table which he has done since he could hold his head up in the high chair. His anger and frustration is getting worse and worse. We can’t even discipline without a meltdown. I am so lost please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Have you brought up your concerns with his pediatrician? We had some similar difficulties with my son. He was tested for Autism Spectrum Disorder. He didn’t meet all the criteria for ASD, but now has a diagnosis of Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and ADHD and receives occupational therapy and speech therapy and has been doing so much better! :)

@Lindsay so his two year checkup was done and they assessed him for autism and everything but since he doesn’t talk some of the correlations could swing either way of being severely speech delayed or autism but they can’t give definitives until more speech therapy has been done , and they said to do early intervention we be have been doing early intervention type of things with him since July. Speech started January of this year and I don’t even know where to start with the pediatrician I’m in the middle of changing to another.

If this child watches tv, maybe try to eliminate that. It can cause anger and irritability. Just one suggestion to try.. other than that, I am not sure. I wish you the best! My 2 year old all of a sudden hates the bath. Sometimes I just think that they are just growing through a new learning milestone and it’s hard for them to process.
