A doula helps you through the entire birthing process (and leading up to it) - they'll suggest positions, may work pressure points, but maybe, most importantly, they advocate for you. They can be a voice for you when you feel unheard or too exhausted to be that for yourself. In my experience, that meant helping me avoid a C-section being pushed by the doctor, before we'd exhausted all other options, and following my birth plan in the wake of unexpected twists and turns. If you can, I say do it! I think midwives actually deliver the baby instead of a traditional hospital doctor but have no experience with that, personally.
@Elisa Thank you for helping me understand 🥰
I recommend! My doula helped me be an advocate for myself and my baby when doctors were pressuring me to do something I didn’t want to do. I also felt like I learned so much prior to birth.
Go for it I loved my doula
