Depends on the nursery, I have noticed that it's the smaller independent nurseries that require a minimum amount of hours if you will be using funded hours.
My son's entitled to 30 hours cos he's disabled, but we only use 18 term time
I'm was a childminder before mat leave and it's never mattered with me or any other childminder I know in my area, you can use up to 15/30 but I had one little one that was entitled to 15 and only used 6. You can also split hours between two settings. Some nursery's do have set hours for example you can only use funding between 9am and 3pm and they have a minimum amount you need to use with them. It would totally depend on the setting, if you contact the setting you intend to use they'll be more than happy to explain how they do things 🥰 x
So say for example my nursery do 8am-6pm days (even though he doesn't stay all those hours) would i beable to send him 3 full days (30hours) and not need to send him 4 for example? I know that might sound silly x
It depends on the nursery. Some nurseries will only let you use 30 hrs if the child attends 5 days for example. Or some will only allow you to use so many hours per day so you might not utilise the full entitlement if you do less. Our little boy goes for 3 days and ours allows us to use the full 30 hrs

You only have to use the amount of hours you wish to use but Nurserys might have a minimum amount of days required for a place. Our little boy will get 30 in sept but we will only be using half of them as he will only be in 2 half days over the whole year not just term time x
