My c section wasn't planned but here's what I took Nighty Breast pads Baby grow Baby vests Clothes Going home outfit for me and Baby Milk Nappies Wipes Toothbrush Toothpaste Scratch mittens Can't think of anything else atm but that's most things I took xx

@Sophie Knights thankyou

Going home outfit for me and baby and that's it really the hospital gave me everything else I needed

@Kerri you're welcome, maternity underwear too, I had the hospitals but it was rubbish so I'd get a bigger size

I packed some lunch as I didn’t know when I was going to get seen/how soon I could eat after (plus in there over night I might get peckish) light snacks/water Baggy jogger bottoms, jumper, loose t shirt, slippers and trainers, loose baggy nighty, I bought adult nappy/pants, not going lie… these were amazing, I couldn’t bend over properly to do pads so the nappies came in handy! I had these on until I stopped bleeding which was 2/3 weeks Warm socks, face wipes, hair bobbles. This was for me I packed loads more but didn’t need it, I just wanted to be comfortable in the end For baby, ready to feed milk newborn 2 packs of six bottles, a few rompers/sleep suits 3 sizes as my baby was bigger and wouldn’t know what fit him. Newborn nappies loads Muslins / clothes They gave us a hat but bring one in case Blankets In the ward on the night don’t be afraid to ask for help if baby cries/needs feeding/needs changing, you’ll find it hard to move the first 48 hours, hope this helps x

@Sophie Knights maternity pads too

@Sophie yess definitely x

@Lottie thank you

@Victoria Aguilar thank you

I packed too much for my C-section. Don’t pack too many clothes for yourself because I lived in big pants and oversized shirts. I recommend: - Over sized underwear or disposable maternity underwear - 4 vests for baby -2 sleep suits - 1 going home outfit - Toiletries (deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste) - 1 pack of diapers - 1 pack of wipes - ready made milk - mittens and hat for baby - 1 blanket - 2 burp clothes - slippers - going home shoes that are easy to get on

@Sarah thank you

Are pads necessary if using disposable maternity underwear?

Chewing gum! Tried it this time round with my third section and it really helped to shift the trapped wind that can be so common after a section.

@Kerri I used pads with mine as I didn’t like the ones that the hospital provided. 100% recommend pads and I had heavy bleeding

@Sarah thank you

@Jo thank you

Comfy pjs Slip on shoes I found that bike shorts that were a lil tight felt the best in my surgery area. Liked the compression feeling. I just went straight to depends for the bleeding. Easier then dealing with those giant pads. Extra long phone charger My own pump so they trained me in what i was actually going to use For baby i brought two pjs and 4 outfits. But half were newborn and half were 0-3 because you never really know how big theyll be. Nap lounge pillow thingy And already loaded diaper bag

I used adult pants (nappies) and was quiet fan changing baby nappies and mine. 😅(also end up giving some to the lady next to me as she was uncomfortable with maternity pads) Everything else was said already. Wish everything goes well for you! 😊

I was only in for the one night so didn’t really need much but I definitely overpacked. But this is all I ended up using- For baby: Nappies Wipes Sleepsuits & vests Muslin cloths Pre-made formula Coming home outfit Name announcement sign For myself: Pads & big pants ( I like the lil let pads ) PJs ( I got discharged in the evening so I put on new PJs as my coming home outfit so I was comfortable and I knew I was getting into bed at home anyway ) Slippers Hygiene items;toothbrush, Deoderant etc Long charger Earphones Chewing gum/ buscomint for trapped wind Hand held fan as it got warm

@Krizia thank you

@Danni thank you

@Kaitlin thank you

Non slip slippers, flip flops for shower. My hospital doesn't let us walk around our rooms in socks. For planned c section I'm going to wear my go home outfit there since you immediately change. Less space to take up in your bag. Disposable undies and pads. I'm only doing sleepers and sleep sacks for baby and night gowns for myself during our stay. Burp cloths, diaper cream and other soaps you prefer to use. Water bottle Lip chap and nip cream. Compression socks; I swelled like crazy last time. I'm going to try the frida mom c section recovery belt.

@Breana thank you. i was thinking of Frida Mom c-sec recovery belt too

I packed baggy t-shirts. You’ll need maternity pads but my hospital gave them. Trapped wind hurts like hell so don’t forget extra strong mints- they were a lifesaver for me!

@Samantha thank yoy

@Kerri I'm using it because I have a toddler as well so extra padding for protection from her lol

@Breana very sensible idea.

@Kerri yes! The maternity underwear is just a thin layer like regular underwear but you will be bleeding so you def need pads but the hospital will give you some too

Massive knickers that go up to belly button is a must

Here is what I actually used of what I packed! You don’t need to pack your own pads or disposable underwear. The hospital provides all of this. Don’t waste your money! Just get the normal pads for when you go home: -a comfy robe for walking the halls -your own nursing nightgown (pants are tricky to put on right away) -toothbrush/facewash/self care products -long phone charger -going home outfit This is truly all I actually used. Take advantage of the things at the hospital. Good luck!!

For baby - you don’t need diapers or wipes or burp cloths. Hospital provides all this!!

- 10ft phone charger so it reaches your bed! - A heated blanket, I was so cold after my C-section - grippy socks - button up pjs (especially if breastfeeding)
