“Breastsleeping”

I recently breastfed at 3am in a lying down position and fell asleep. I finally rested and the baby was so happy as he was still latched on 4 hours later. I woke up terrified because of all the bad rep for co sleeping but I can’t see how it is dangerous. He is next to me, I can hear his every move, I’m in a c-curl and do not move in my sleep. I feel like a bad mother because I want to do it again but it’s the first time me and my partner got a decent sleep. Surely that is safer than a mother who is basically hallucinating from lack of sleep.

Definitely Carry on if it’s something that works for you. I co sleep with my little girl for a few hours every morning when my partner goes to work and I love it. Just make sure you follow safe sleep guidelines, and latched sleeping is really beneficial to you both xx

We’ve been cosleeping since about 2.5 weeks and we’ve all been sleeping well! Best choice we’ve made by far with my little one. Cosleeping gets suchhh a bad rap because of the stats based on incidents where people have co slept accidentally in an unsafe way. It can totally be done safely. I’d recommend the page ‘happy cosleeper’ on Instagram and/or Facebook for some amazing guidance to make you feel really safe with cosleeping

I do this when my little one wakes up between 5 and 6am and he stays there until I wake up again to get up for the day. As long as baby isn't sleeping between the two of you, they can't fall off the bed and there's no chance of a pillow falling on them, I'm pretty sure it's safe

My midwife told me today it’s fine to co sleep as long as I’m in a c position and there’s no extra sheets or pillows or blankets near his head and face

Go on the lullaby trust website for info. I co sleep and love it x

Look up the safe sleep 7 and then carry on! 1. It’s natural to want your baby close 2. It can be done safely 3. You need your rest too!
