Has anyone NOT been to a baby group yet

I need to go I’m just so anxious and without a car it’s so hard. The groups seem to always be on times my LO would end up napping etc,not been swimming either

I only just took my daughter to baby sensory a few weeks ago, where as her brother I’m sure was still pretty much a newborn. But with her being born at the end of August everyone just kept getting ill so I just held off until we had a couple of weeks of no illnesses. I don’t drive but I make myself walk up to baby sensory every week - it helps ease the anxiety a lot and gets her nap in then so she is awake for the class. We’ve actually made friends more this time round.

For the last 2 weeks we’ve done 4 classes a week 🙈 2 are paid ones (sensory which we started at 6 weeks and signing which we started around 15 weeks) the other 2 are free temporary ones for 10-12 weeks. I have to get out of the house or I’d go stir crazy, I’m a single mum and don’t have many family & friends around unfortunately

I’ve finally got a place at our local hart beeps end of feb so we’ll start then, although I have been going to a mums fitness class for a couple on months and met other mums and babies there

Going to start going to rhyme time at the library soon too. I feel like he’s only just getting to the age where he’ll enjoy it

Yea we go once a week to an hour class (I have a 3 year old so can only work around 2 nursery days)… I make myself go for my little girl but haven’t come away with any friends so far from this one 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I just think whatever I’m here for my baby not your clicky group. There is an older group of mums at the one I’m currently in that stick together and seem a bit rude. My baby was doing tummy time and one of them was like I always forget to do tummy time, but you know it’s not my first baby ‘indirectly’ towards me it felt like. But yeah it’s not my first baby either.. she’s my 3rd actually xx

Haven’t been swimming but I do try to go to mummy & baby groups even if it’s nap time just so I can see other people and have a change of scenery. I don’t have a car either so I walk there (only 45mins) which if she’s not tired will be awake for the walk and if she needs to nap during the class I pop her in the baby carrier and she falls asleep and I can still speak to people and enjoy a cuppa x

I’ve not been to many and when I have, have felt a bit nervous about him not being happy, but it’s never been that bad. I started at the free library sessions which was low pressure as free, but quite busy. The only one I go to regularly has 4 or 5 people in so feels very relaxed.

Im not a particularly social person 😅 i always find small talk tedious to be honest (i sound delightful don’t i 😆) but i go to a baby sensory group with my daughter that i used to take my son to because the look on her face when she sees all the lights and new things is just so worth it, i find it so hard to entertain a baby of 6m so its definitely worth the discomfort i feel mingling with people i don’t know
