I went with daycare. There is a higher CCS and everytime I have raised something it has always been addressed quickly. I also found my children have really excelled with their curriculum and will be staying there till they start school. I kept my hospital job and organised reduced hours with set days with my NUM. I still have the option of picking up more but have the job security and regular money coming in. My daughter has learnt to take a bottle. Initially she was upset and it was really hard but neither of us really had an option. She was also only 10 months when she started daycare. Do what you feel is right for you and your little one and remember it will get better.
@Amy hey Amy, I hvnt talked to my NUM yet but ll give it a try. I was ANMF member but currently my membership is on hold. Thank you for ur suggestion I ll look for more information with ANMF
@Claire so u were still doing night shifts ? Even I tried bottle n pacifier but she don't take it. I ll try taking to NUM. Should I email about it or visit in person
No night shifts but I am gone 6am to 6pm. I called and emailed my NUM about my return to work and finalise everything. I had an idea of what I was wanting to work before I went on Mat leave so they were expecting it. Maybe try normal milk in a bottle similar to the one she is drinking her water from. She may like the independence of drinking it by herself and the different flavour. Just keep trying every night. There will be tear but you just have to be persistent. Does she sleep at daycare? Maybe they have a trick they use, might be worthwhile asking.
You could try talking to your NUM to negotiate a flexible working arrangement. This could allow to have set working days and shifts that work alongside your childcare. Are you a union member? ANMF have a lot of useful information and resources you can access.
