Pay increase whilst on mat leave

Does anyone know the official guidance in terms of going up a pay scale whilst on mat leave? Currently M2 (still in my ECT years) - due to go back in September I was under the assumption I would still be entitled to a pay increase?

Not sure on the official guidance but I'm sure you can't be discriminated against due to being on mat leave, I was still able to progress from UPS 1- 2 despite only having done 1 year actually at work due to maternity
