Unsure it’s an allergy?

My 6 month old has been put on nutramigen for suspected cmpa. Shes been on it for around 3 months now, and was also put on Gaviscon. Symptoms kind of improved but not fully, we recently switched from Gaviscon to omeprazole and she is doing sooo well! This makes me question whether she has just reflux, and the symptoms of cmpa were just reflux. Has anyone re introduced normal formula? Or had a similar experience? I’m intrigued to try 1 scoop to see if she has any reaction. Xx

Im having the same query, please keep me updated if you get an answer, im wary about trying a scoop as my baby is only 5 weeks

In Wales we have dietitian groups for CMPA and they now support a "challenge" to the allergy around 4-6 weeks after LO has been on the formula if all symptoms have disappeared. The challenge is one scoop in second bottle of the day (mixed separately & then added to 1 scoop less of CMPA formula) and for 7 days to then increase the scoops until one full bottle of normal formula is drank. They say if no symptoms then a gradual or complete switch can be done. If symptoms appear then to stop and revert back! From reading lots of countries are now supporting a challenge as there is lots of misdiagnosis and the longer LO is on CMPA formula the less enzymes to break down the dairy they have. You can message me if you have any questions, we tried and unfortunately LO began projectile vomiting by day 3 😫, also worth thinking about original symptoms, the one that confirmed CMPA for us was the prominent rash which went after formula change x
