Low PAPP-A
I got my letter with the results of the Downs, Edwards, and Patau’s syndromes which all came back low risk. But my PAPP-A also came back low which the letter says puts me at risk of having a baby with low birth weight so have to take 150mg aspirin. My first child was only 5lb 8 when born at 38+5 (early because of suspected low weight) but her growth issues weren’t picked up until the 30 week growth scan.
Do I just not remember having my PAPP-A checked before or is this a new thing? Has anyone else been told this and everything been ok?
The NHS lowered the threshold for low PAPP-A levels a couple of years ago so you may not have qualified for it last time. I had it with my almost two year old and she was born at a good weight (just under 8lbs). You will also get extra scans so they can monitor the growth so try not to worry x
