We JUST took away the car ride pacifier, you don’t suck ❤️ I also work full time ~ Honestly it depends on the day. Sometimes my kiddo is excited to go home, other days she cries like this. There’s no rhyme or reason to it, definitely not hating you. It’s usually that they had a fun day and don’t want to leave that environment. We started giving an option for diaper changes ~ on the changing table or on the floor (mostly because I’m pregnant). She loves getting to choose. Same with clothes/pajamas, I’ll let her pick a whole outfit or give 2 options depending on what kind of time we have.
@Kaytlen thank you for the tips! Really appreciate it. Curious if you have tips for getting rid of the pacifier?
@Brandy there are not many babies in the family and daycare said she’s fine with diaper changes there so I thought it was me! lol good to know that I’m not alone! She is a really shitty napper so could be?
We stopped giving it during the day first and using other soothing techniques. Then took away the car pacifier a couple weeks ago, she cried for the first few car trips, but she’s doing a lot better now. If she asks for it, I just say it went bye bye and she seems to accept that answer 😅 She still has her pacifier for naps (only on the weekend at home as she doesn’t get it at daycare) and bedtime. We’re probably going to try the cut pacifier method (cut a triangle out of the tip of it) in the next month. We want to give her time to slowly adjust to not having the car one first, but want to be pacifier free before our next baby is born in July so that we can associate as a “baby item” now that she’s a big girl.
All of our children do that with diaper changes, she doesn't hate you. Try making diaper changes more fun by singing or playing games. It helps....sometimes. Regarding day care, I see it as a good thing that she doesn't want to leave. She must be enjoying it there! She's probably not crying because you're there, but because she will miss her friends. Also, maybe she just is tired or hates car rides at night? Does she nap well? A lot of that behavior just sounds like my child when she's tired.
