Oh I’d like to know as well! I’ve heard amazing things from magnesium x

Have you had your iron levels checked? I had an iron deficiency and it made me so tired :(

From what I've read, magnesium is better absorbed through topical application. I bought some of this: https://www.sweetbeeorganics.co.uk/products/sweet-sleep-magnesium-butter?variant=30945927037018&&utm_campaign=21029965815&utm_term=&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=&utm_device=m&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwhMq-BhCFARIsAGvo0KeFUegybvsQgS4WJQSuHrtJPpqUHrlKcKOyInU4q5CZMOBop6cn3HcaAm0dEALw_wcB I apply it on the soles of my feet before bed every night. It can also be applied in the stomach. It's pregnancy safe and can also be used on babies' feet once they are here to help with sleep. They advise daily use to build up stores and to improve uptake/results.

@maddie yeah I think they came back as normal. I’m taking the pregnacare max tablets, but they’re more for the baby than me I think x

@Vicks thank you for that information. I’ll have a look at this x

@Lottie-Rose that’s good…I just had to ride it out but was told taking my iron with orange juice first thing helps it get absorbed better, not sure if it’s the same for other vitamins/supplements

@maddie oh right I’ve not heard of that before, but I’ll give anything ago. Thank you x

@Lottie-Rose no problem, that came from my dr…apparently it had to be orange because of the vitamin c. Hope you start to feel better soon x

I have been trying to maintain running and in the last few weeks (now 22weeks) I’ve been getting leg cramps/lactic acid build up after only a few minutes of running. This is on top of utter exhaustion. I researched and bought solgar magnesium and vit b6 on Amazon. The type of magnesium makes a difference. I believe citrate is prefered for absorption. We shouldn’t be having more than about 350-400mg I believe so the recommended dose is 3 tablets once a day. Given I’m taking pregnacare max too, I’m taking 2 a day to top up the pregnacare dose. Pregnacare only delivers 40% RDA. You should check that if you were to do the same that your midwife/obstetrician is ok with this. Mine agreed it made sense. I’ve been taking for a week or so. I think it’s helping although I’ve also had a cold which has knocked me for 6 so the benefits may be better once I get well.

@Cassie Thank you for that! I’ve been getting bad muscle cramps but only at night time. What vitamins was it you bought off Amazon? I did some research yesterday on magnesium and vitamin B and it did say it was safe to use whilst pregnant. I just didn’t know which ones to take and if they’d work or not. I’m feeling as the weeks go on I’m feeling more fatigue and lack of energy even when I am exercising more. I hope yours helps you when you’re feeling a bit better x

*Magnesium citrate and oxide are the two I read were best utilised by the body

@Cassie these were the ones I saw on Amazon yesterday, and the reviews were good on them if I remember. I’ll have to get some and see how I get on with them. Thank you x

Solgar Magnesium with Vitamin B6... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000Z8YGGG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share Solgar Magnesium Citrate Tablets... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B012T97SDQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share These are another option without the b6. I bought both to try. I read that it can take months to restore magnesium so I thought I might want to not take too much B6 if I was in it for the long haul.

I hope it helps! I would be interested to know if you feel a difference x

@Cassie thank you, I hope it helps you too and thanks for your help x
