How are you putting LO to sleep…???

So I have been using the huckleberry app and to be honest it’s pretty accurate alongside my LO’s sleepy cues but I’m curious as to when your LO shows cues how do you then get them from whatever activity they are doing to sleep…? Since birth mine cries as he is being settled off, it’s like he tells me he’s tired by being a bit whingy, rubbing eyes, blank stare etc but when I get him into position to rock him he screeches until he falls asleep. Any suggestions how to get him to transition to sleep without the crying bit and does anybody else’s do this too?? I have put him in crib awake once and he settled himself off in 8 minutes but I have never been able to replicate this since!!

Oh my goodness my little girl is exactly the same! Today she screamed for 45 mins and I literally couldn’t get her to stop so eventually i ended up putting her in the car and she fell asleep fairly soon. It was so exhausting 😅 really keen to see what other people do!

@Jules I mean he doesn’t scream for long usually unless he is over tired but it’s like that’s the only way he knows how to fall asleep, just cry until he is exhausted. Once he’s asleep he stays asleep but I just can’t seem to find any other way to settle him off!

A trick I have found that’s worked ( may not work for all) is when rocking my little one I use the shhhhhh, but if she starts to cry I get louder with the shhhh everytime and she will nod off x

Honestly... I've tried all sorts and nothing has been more effective than just using my boobs 😂

I was told by a sleep consultant that the moment they start rubbing their eyes, it means they are a bit too tired and that ig you wanted then to sleep independently, you need to out then down before that happens. But we were all saying we can't till when that moment is as it's hard to tell they're getting tired
