Anyone had an ECV? your experience?

I’m currently 35 weeks and having my scan at 35+ 6 and I think bubba might still be frank breech :/ I assume if still is they will recommend an ECV but I’m scared 🥲

I had a successful ECV! I had it at 37 weeks and my baby was Frank's breech too. It isn't pleasant, think very firm massage where it's sore but for me it was over so fast I definitely don't regret going for it. It depends on baby's position as well, they had to get his head from under my ribs and the bony bits were the sore bits but less than 5 minutes and they were all done.

@Amy Thankyou for sharing! This is super helpful, I have a lot of pressure under right rib so think baby quite comfortable up high lol😫😂

Unfortunately mine was unsuccessful. I had mine at 37 weeks, quite uncomfortable but baby just refused to move they tried 3 time and they said sometimes there's just things stopping them from turning, we ended up having a c-section at 39 weeks and was a lovely experience

@Olivia ahh okay! Thanks for sharing, I know for sure this can happen and prepared for either way so good to know how people’s went and did wonder when they end up doing c section so good to know xx

Of course! It's usually 39wweks as long as nothing else is wrong, I got my date on the same day as my ecv

I had an ECV at 37 weeks… only discovered my little girl was breech at 35 weeks! So was upset I might not get the birth I had wanted all that time! But I knew if I didn’t try the ecv I would regret not trying absolutely everything to avoid a c section. Sadly it didn’t work for me. They give you a. Little injection to soften tummy muscles and then the dr puts ALOT of pressure on your belly to try and turn the baby…. It doesn’t hurt the baby at all as they know exactly what they are pushing on… but tbh it it’s nice at all, it’s a very unnatural and uncomfortable feeling, there is a midwife with you too, mine said after the 3rd try we need to stop As it was clearly hurting me. I was disappointed, but glad I tried. C-section was a good experience in the end though. Have a look at spinning babies, spend a lot of time upside down:) there is still Time for your baby to turn🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I had a successful ecv. I was so scared but so happy I did it. the midwifes were brilliant and monitored me. I had a Frank breech baby too 😁
