Oh gosh I remember it too well…. temporary relief: massage, hot/cold compresses, acupressure mat
I’m 29 weeks pregnant and mine started around 20 weeks. I’ve done everything, the ice packs, epson soaks, biofreeze, the wrist bands, Tylenol for the pain… NOTHING has made it better… Dr just keeps telling me that it will go away after pregnancy. Mine is so bad I’m even scared to drive, the pain and the numbness is so bad my hands feel crippled. Can’t even hold my phone up for more than a minute and fingers go numb all the time… it’s worst at night and I wake up every morning with pain all the way from my shoulders to my fingertips. Next thing I’m going to try is a reflexology hand massage to see if I can get some type of relief… I know how frustrated you must feel, just keep pushing forward and remind yourself it all for your little bundle of joy 💕
Oh my gosh, yes mine gets so worse at night time the doctors ordered me some braces to put on both my hands so I mean it works. I don’t have numbness in my hands at night but when I wake up, my fingers hurt so bad because of how the braces are so it’s like never a win-win lol. But I know I’m just like I only have a month and a half to go. I can live through this, but I feel it too like every morning I wake up and my arms hurt to my shoulders to my fingers and my hand everything and it gets very frustrating but all I think about is it will end shortly it’s not permanent lol Because I never had this before my fingers would go numb every now and then like if I slept on it wrong, but this is like a nonstop thing so it’s just kind of frustrating, but yeah, it’s all worth it at the end, but I just didn’t know what else I can do because I tried everything too.
@demi oh gosh I hope it stops after birth because I don’t know if I can’t take this much longer lol. It’s hard for me to text or even drive so I’m hoping it’s not a forever thing.
@Monica Munoz I knew it started to get really bad when I couldn’t turn the doorknobs or open my medicine bottles… my husband looked at me like I was crazy trying to open the door lol 😂 We’ll survive… read on the reflexology hand massage it’s supposed to be really good for it, I’m praying to find some relief with that. Good luck and stay strong mama!
@Jenny yeah I know I couldn’t even really cook because I would drop things and then I get so mad. My husband just bought a gel wrist brace and it can be heated or cooled and so he’s going to put it in freezer for me and I’m hoping that will relieve the pain. Thank you 😊 me too
I had the worst carpal tunnel with my first pregnancy, I think my job as a vet tech at the time made it worse because I also don’t have it this pregnancy. I wore braces on both my wrists/hands, did lots of hot/cold compresses, and even Tylenol at times… nothing helped honestly. I would wake up at night bawling my eyes out due to the pain I would be in and would be unable to fall back asleep for hours. The one thing I think helped, if at all possible, was sleeping slightly elevated with my hands above my heart- I’d lay my hands over my chest and have to sleep in an angled position. That’s the best advice I can give, hoping it goes away once your baby is born like mine did! I know some doctors say it can take time postpartum for it to stop even.
Thank you for the advise I do tend to do that but I always end up in another position lol. It always wakes me up and I can’t fall back asleep because my thumb would hurt so bad I want to cry. I hope it goes away after having the baby. This is one thing I will never wish someone has it because it is so painful.
@Monica Munoz My heart goes out to you, because I remember that pain all too well and it was absolutely awful. I hated waking up sobbing, and my bf felt awful that there was nothing he could do. When you wake at night, I highly recommend even just running them under warm/hot water and flexing them a bit- it does hurt at first, but it slowly helps eventually, then I’d swing my arms and try to get some feeling in them again before calming myself and going to lay back down.
I had this but mine didn’t start until after I give birth! Lasted months and drove me nuts my fingertips were constantly numb, it just went away one day after a few months but it’s so annoying! X
