Mama insomnia

I am so sleep deprived at the moment and it's not even because my little girl is up all night. I just cannot sleep. I'm currently drinking some Golden Milk (first time trying it, it's so good) to see if that can help. It's not that I'm not tired. I'm exhausted and can feel my eyes getting heavier. By the time I've turned off all the lights in the house it's like my brain starts pumping a load of caffeine around my body and I'm wide awake 😭 is anyone else expecting this? Does anyone have any tips to help me out?

I feel you! I’ve always been a terrible sleeper before I even had lo I can be nodding off downstairs and soon as I get in bed I’m wide awake 😖 haven’t found anything to help and I’ve had several sleeping tablets from the doctors before I had baby and they made no difference x

Yes but something that has helped me massively is exercise. Even a YouTube video, or walking the dogs. If I don’t get out or move properly (other than walking about the house) then I struggle to sleep x

@Shannon oh gosh. Maybe we should just sleep on the sofa with the light on lol. I wasn't a very good sleeper before having my little girl. Due to mental health I tend to have some weirs tv show playing quietly on my phone to help me drift off. Or a mediation. I'm reluctant to use mediations with my little girl as she's breastfed and these mediations put me into such a deep sleep that nothing will wake me. I've only ever taken melatonin but I have strange reactions to medications (paracetamol makes me drowsy). Melatonin made me so high I'd pass out within 10 mins of taking it 😂

@Briony I walk the dog for 4 hours everyday plus do at home workouts (only about 10 mins). I've massively changed my diet to more natural things and so everything possible to increase the bodies natural melatonin supply

I actually slept on the sofa the other night due to constantly coughing every time I lay down in bed and although I don’t go to sleep until late I fell asleep faster then normal 😅 the asmr videos on YouTube used to help me but now they don’t touch the sides anymore so I’m out of luck and I’m just here surviving 🤣 little one still wakes in the night and only has one nap in the day most days very rare she has two and most the time she naps when we go out so I can’t even try and nap or when I do try and nap by the time I’ve fallen asleep oe drifting off her nap is over 🤣

I meditate before bedtime for 10 or 15 minutes which has helped bedtime routine massively.
