Growth restriction

My baby was diagnosed with IUGR today in the third trimester (at 34 weeks, she’s measuring in the 7th percentile, so around 4 lb —> closer to 32 weeks) and I’m trying not to freak out. I have no risk factors for IUGR and was really surprised, only got the scan because fundal height was measuring a little small in the past few weeks when prior ultrasound measurements were normal. The MFM doctor said it’s most likely placental insufficiency vs maybe also a component of the baby being constitutionally small because I’m only 5’1”. Her BPP and all other tests were normal so I’m hoping it’s not too serious and that she has a chance to catch up on growth. Going to get weekly ultrasounds from now on and likely have an induction at 38-39 weeks. I’m just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and what are the chances the measurements are inaccurate or that she magically starts growing at a faster rate in the last few weeks? I work in pediatrics and take care of babies, including NICU babies, so I’m medically familiar with the potential complications of being low birth weight but have not been on this side of things before (first pregnancy). I am trying not to let my mind race too much or wonder what I did wrong because I rationally know there’s no way of knowing why this happened, but it’s still stressful. 😥 Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My baby was IUGR and I induced at 37w with him in the 2nd percentile and he came out small but perfectly healthy and strong. His umbilical cord was suuuuper thin and they thought this was the reason for his growth but it was fine

They thought mine had IUGR so I went for a second opinion at MFM and they just said she was small. Her cord was wrapped around her neck 3x. Mine ended up coming naturally at 37w 6d and she was just an SGA baby 5lb 9.6oz. But let me tell you—-she was totally healthy and no issues whatsoever. No sugar issues at birth. No breastfeeding issues. No birth issues. I freaked out too but everything ended up fine. It’s hard to not worry but it will be okay!

It could be nothing they told my sil her baby was small so they took him two weeks early and he was already 6lb 7oz at birth he probably would have ended up being 7lbs had he stays the last two weeks 🤷🏻‍♀️

they told me i had IUGR but there was no definitive reason why. placenta was healthy, fluids were good, cord was healthy and the blood was flowing perfectly between placenta and baby. she was just small. they wanted me to induce but i declined, went into labor on my own at 40+5 and she was almost 7 pounds, about 2lbs bigger than they “predicted”. the only thing was her cord was on the short side, but she was perfectly healthy
