How do you shave?

For legs/area, what direction do you shave? For my legs I always just went up my leg with a razor and growing up always heard that for your pubic area to feel smoother or whatever to shave all directions, up, down, left and right so that's what I've been doing and it seems to work fine I guess. My arm hair doesn't really grow so I've never shaved my arms since I left high school I wanna know if there's better ways to do it? Or any advice on it, my mom never taught me so I just kinda did it, trial and error plus a little bit of Google lol but I want advice from actual women, especially so that when my daughter is ready/interested I can teach her correctly I've never used nair or wax and I typically buy a pack mens razors at Walmart, they are sharper and seem to last longer

Shave in the opposite direction of hair growth. Look where your hair are pointing at and shave in the exact opposite direction.

I have sensitive skin so I shave my legs doing down and then up. It helps them not get razor burn.

Shaving the direction of hair takes longer but you get less razor bumps and irritation. Shaving against gets a closer/faster shave but causes irritation and bumps. I usually shave with and then against.

Im interested to hear other people’s opinions

I shave from the bottom up for legs, down only for pubic and both directions for underarms.

For my legs, I shave upwards, but my hair is very fine and I don't have sensitive skin down there, if it was coarse or I had sensitive skin, I'd be shaving in the direction of growth and then finishing off with against growth. For my vulva, I ALWAYS shave in the direction of growth first, and then against, I've only ever had 1 ingrown hair since doing it that way for many years. It's also generally really painful shaving against the hair growth in that area, so I take that as a cue to trim the hedges first and then it's much easier to get closer to the root in the other direction.
