Advice please with pregnancy after LLETZ treatment.

I have just had a precautionary examination due to having LLETZ treatment a few years ago to remove pre cancerous cells. My cervix measures 2.6cm and anything under 2.5 will need treatment. They are monitoring me again in two weeks time. Does anyone have any experience with this and the different treatment options. I have been told it could be progesterone or a stitch. Any reassurance would be appreciated!

Hi! Yes I had the same procedure. My cervix was similar to you and at my first follow up it had shortened a little to just under 2.5 so they started progesterone pessaries which I used until 34 weeks and cervix remained stable once on progesterone. Despite the lletz cervix stayed closed and strong. The pessaries naturally weren't the nicest things but I got used to it. Currently 37 weeks and baby still in there (this is my 3rd pregnancy but 1st since lletz). I asked lots of questions to understand options and risks etc, don't be afraid to ask, question and get the information you need. Wishing you the best. X

@Briony thank you so much for this response! So glad you’ve got this far and all the best for the next few weeks! Xx

Yep I had exactly the same. Same treatment as Briony above. I’ve just finished my progesterone pessaries (34weeks) cervix still closed. I had the same in my first pregnancy as has LLETZ on 2019. I carried my son until 39 weeks (spontaneous labour)

@Naomi thanks for your reply! Good luck! Xx
