I’m struggling so badly, my son was born at 3lbs 11oz. (He was a premie)
We’ve been struggling to have him gain weight, he eats three meals, snacks in between, gets milk, and at his 15 month appointment, he only weighs 17lbs 14 oz. His last appointment 6 weeks ago, he was 17lbs 10oz.
I’m really at a loss, I’m trying so hard to not beat myself up. But why is my baby struggling so bad to gain weight. At this point he’s in the <1 percentile…
Any advice?

Learn more about our guidelines.I’ve been checking the nutrition labels on everything my daughter eats to make sure it has a high fat content as she is also underweight. She finally hit 20 pounds this month and the doctor isn’t concerned anymore, but I look around and see babies 5 to 6 months younger than her that are way bigger and I feel bad.
But as long as he’s happy, you’re doing a great job!
My little one wasn’t a premie but due to a milk allergy we had no idea about for months had so much trouble with weight gain. She is only just about 17 pounds now so I feel for you ❤️ as long as he is eating and is overall healthy I wouldn’t stress yourself too much. Feed him high fat foods! Greek yogurt, butter, cheese, whole
Milk, Avacado… things like that. Also maybe ask your pediatrician about pediasure. We were able to get a prescription for it.
