Poison control
I would call baby’s pediatrician or poison control
Go to the emergency room they will pump his stomach
Definitely doctor
Poison control ASAP Then doctor You don’t mess around with stuff like that and take your time.
Call poison control on your way to an ER ( if there’s one with a pediatric ER go there), worse scenario is poison control tells you it’s fine and you turn around and go home. Even though you took it during pregnancy your LO wasn’t getting the full dose like taking the actual pill. Best of luck, I’ll say a prayer please keep us updated if you can
Poison control!!
Go to the ER
Poison control!
Just to update everyone I did call poison control and they told me because of the dossage they didn't see much of a problem. Just to keep him under observation for the day since he is acting fine
Great news! Thank you for letting us know
Not to be a total asshole but how did this even happen? All pills should be out of reach and at the very least in a child proof bottle or medicine box. Please please please make sure from now on that all these types of things are out of reach. This is very serious and as a mother you should know anything that is digested unwanted the first call should be doc, 911 or poison control not the internet.
@Elysha she said in the post she was about to take it… kids have fast hands. I also feel like we shouldn’t judge one another on our mistakes. One day it will be you looking for support and I genuinely hope you find support without judgement. Being a mom is the hardest job on the planet and we get enough critiques from the world, we should be kinder to one another. ❤️
@Elysha I understand wondering how it happened, but sometimes accidents happen. You were a total asshole. Don’t you think she has already learned from this? There is no reason to criticize further, it’s not helpful or kind.

@Amanda thank you for your words of support. @Elysha yes as I stated above I took it out of the bottle to take it. My baby was strapped in his high chair in the kitchen as I was cooking his breakfast oatmeal. I set pill on the counter as I reached out to grab a glass and pour me a cup of water. Right next to him. He turned around and reached with his little hands to the counter. I did not think he could reach with his little hands backwards that far in just an instant. When I turned around to take the pill he was already chewing on it with a blue mouth. I was able to get a few pieces out but that was it. Long story short. Amanda is right. It was a split second accident and a combination of stress, a wont out mom who works, takes care of the baby, the house and the bills. A toddler who is in the age of reaching into everything and eating everything and my false sense of security that he was “safe” strapped in his high chair.
@Amanda maybe I am the asshole. And I would never wish this situation on anyone ever. I work in healthcare and take this so seriously. No I’m not a nurse or a doctor and don’t pretend to be. Yes I have needed support in the past and I am sure I will in the future. I am a first time mom as well. She didn’t post this as a lord please calm my nerves after I have already discussed this with my doctor and or whatever medical services and they said everything is going to be ok. Her first thought was let me post it on a social platform and wait for a response. I am trying to make it clear that this is not the right way to handle a very dangerous situation. I am glad that everyone who responded told her the correct response. You can judge me all you want I am very glad her child is safe. I am glad mom you are ok. But please anytime you feel your child is in danger do not wait for a response on social media.
It’s sad that you even have to defend yourself. I think we’ve all been in this situation where our kids stuck something in their mouth that they shouldn’t have. We can’t predict their every move! Things happen even when we are careful and I promise that poster is not immune to accidents. I’m sure you are a wonderful and careful mom. Kids are just kids and will continue to be kids. No matter how hard we try to keep them safe, they are their own beings. Take a healing breath and know more of us relate to this situation than not.
@Elysha so yes, I am a mom. I am very aware of all this and my entireplace is childproofed so much so it feels like an obstacle course. Yet it still happened and I feel like shit for it. Also, to answer your question I went into panic mode, first googled the medication and accidental ingestion, which said it was also prescribed to 2 year olds. Then i texted a family member who is a pediatrician, then joined a telehealth pediatrician service, and then while I waited on answers I went to peanut to see if my community of moms had any helpful experience. I did NOT call 911 because of the amount of medication and the kind of medication since its also prescribed to children. And also because I took the same dosage twice a day my entire pregnancy. Had the number of pills been higher or a more extreme situation I would have probably called 911.
@Elysha I think there is a kinder way to say it though. Fear of judgment can keep people from seeking help, and sometimes the panic of a situation makes people not think clearly. I think we should be happy she reached out at all, and maybe if moms are met with less judgement they will feel more confident coming forward with mistakes 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t think you meant to be harsh and neither do i, but I think these conversations are needed.
I am glad that you reached out that way first. I am sorry if I am being rude I just see a lot of bad advice on social media and I would never want any child to be in danger bc of bad advice. I am glad you and your child are ok.
I hope your baby is ok
@Amanda you might be right! I’m ok with admitting I’m sure I came off strong and probably rude.
How is baby today? This sounds like something of my worst nightmares 😭 so sorry it happened.
@Maryn he is been doing great. Thank you for asking. Yes I was in crazy panic mode!
I'm glad he's doing well! My LO has figured out child proof caps and it really does happen so fast sometimes! Luckily he hasn't gotten into any pills but they're so fast!
@Elysha don’t be rude! What a scary experience she had. Don’t need to make it worse.
Call your doctor.
