Insufficient glandular tissue / breast hypoplasia
I have been diagnosed with this. Anyone else?
My boobs have always looked different to other people's, they're wide apart, large areola, conicle, I have no cleavage at all. Never got above an A cup in my life.
My baby is nearly 1 month old, and I have never been able to get more than 30ml combined from both breasts from pumping and that's a real struggle. Having to supplement with formula, pump, and breastfeeding, so triple feeding. It's stressful and time consuming.
I really want to keep BFing but partially feel like eventually my mental health will suffer and he'll be formula fed, maybe with a small amount of breast. Feeling very relieved to have a diagnosis, that it's not something I can do much about, but disappointed at the same time.
Please work with an IBCLC they are trained to work with women with your condition and can help you figure the best way to go about it. See if you can find one covered by insurance. So many women struggle because of lack of knowledge and guidance when there’s help available. But also no combo feeding is okay too. I know you may want to EBF but the fact that your baby is getting any breastmilk from you is awesome! Don’t let your mental health suffer. We want a happy mom AND a happy baby. However you feed your baby, 2 years from now they’ll be licking the floor lol.
