Hey, I am hosting the perfect event for you! It is free and there are 2 experts talking about weaning! They will be covering topics such as how to know your baby is ready to start weaning, allergies, fussyness, how to make meals fun and enjoyable and what weaning actually is for babies (hint: food under 1 is for FUN!) You can sign up and get your free ticket here https://thechildcarenavigator.com/bump-to-1stbirthday-summit211853
So I started on baby porridge for a week, went on to flavoured baby porridge for a week, and currently on Ella’s Kitchen food for her. Introduce them to foods they’re more likely to be allergic to (eggs, strawberries etc) earlier so they’re less likely to be allergic in the long run. Also, food under 1 is just for fun, so don’t worry if they don’t eat it!! Another, gagging is COMPLETELY normal as they’re getting used to certain textures and it’s actually a good way of showing their body is working the way it should!! Good luck 💗
Don't use store bought baby food. Read their labels and you'll find they are full of sugar. Porridge doesn't have to be 30% sugar, just buy normal oats, blend it and cook it yourself, it takes 10 mins. Same with fruits and vegetables
I’d suggest getting a weaning chart to follow and then some good recipe books for inspiration! I like the Ella’s kitchen first foods (great starter chart in there) and then as baby got a bit older I liked the what mummy makes book. Also good advice on introducing allergies. Gagging is normal and helps them learn to chew! Children may have a mild allergy to some foods to begin with buts that’s normal too and most grow out of it by they time they are 2 (one of mine had a mild allergy to strawberries the other to citrus) both love them now!
Oh I'm interested in this!
