KIT days making me realise I’d love to cut hours

Being back in work for a couple of KIT days has made me really realise how much I’d really love to cut hours or find a way of spending time with my daughter during the week. I feel so so sad about it, although I don’t think I’d be able to afford it. We’re both full time working parents, have a mortgage and I don’t think we’d be entitled to any extra benefits etc if I was to cut down. I have annual leave to use at first which will help but by January id be expected to be doing 5 days a week (2 from home). Has anyone else been in a similar situation to me? What are you going to do? I’m doing 4 days as standard and using al to take an extra day for a few months so will start on 3. If you haven’t already I’d look at income after tax on 4 days as you might not lose as much as you think

I would love to cut my hours down but it’s not something we can afford and part time is non-existent within my peer group at work. Absolutely dreading going back 5 days but feel backed into a corner about it x

We have lucky to cut to 4 days as like @Sarah said for us its not going to be that much less.

My partner and I are both condensing hours so we’ll have four day weeks and then take a day each, my dad will cover two days and we’ve found a fantastic nursery for the last day. We’re lucky that our employers are so family friendly and let us do that! But I know a lot of people who do cut hours a bit
