@Ansa Does your son have CMPA as well? Mine definitely has it so unsure whether to make the swap incase he is sensitive to the goat protein and lactose as well x
@Beth Not entirely sure tbh because he tolerated goats milk, but when i gave him a greek yoghurt based pouch, he had a reaction, so not sure i have him on a dairy free diet atm. Just too scared for a reaction. We was referred to a dietician and she said she doesn't think its cmpa as he shouldve improved on the amino acid formulas but he got worse. And is alot better on goats. We have an appointment in august now so just waiting on that too scared to introduce cows milk.
Skin definitely steroids didnt help made it 10 times worse so these things work for us aveeno dermexa and drought secrets products and dead sea salt also i dress him lightly and in 100% cotton only x
We tried about 5 different cmpa milks including Neocate and it did not make a difference to her eczema. She gets it whether she is having dairy or not. We noticed she gets it if her bare skin is on the carpet particularly a wool rug we had so we got rid of it. Made sure the house is as dust free as possible etc. She had not had a flare up for about 3 months then she played in the sand at nursery and came home with an immediate flare up. It may or may not be dietary linked but spoke to several paediatricians and they said it’s unlikely we will ever find out as it’s so hard to pinpoint with babies. Obviously there are different allergy tests you can have which do work for some people.
@Katie thank you
With my son we was in the same boat had about 4 milk changes turns out his was not cmpa related was eczema alone, so i switched to kendamil goats milk as goats milk is also meant to be great for skin. And use aveeno dermexa and the drought secret rescue butter and calming butter fron moistuirisng 3/4 times a day we now do morning and night or sometimes just 1 time and skin has improved a lot thankfully. Also, we use dead sea salt in the bath water. Hope this helps x
