Milk supply gone down

Hello I'm exclusively breastfeeding baby. I have been having a good milk supply so far. Suddenly I feel like milk supply has dropped massively as 5 weeks... I don't know what is happening and how to get it back. I'm not sure if it's because of my diet? Is baby drinking more? Is the baby drinking less so the supply has gone less? I honestly have no idea but I feel like the baby is still hungry and the milk is gone. I've given the baby their first formula bottle because I'm so stressed. I was happy breastfeeding but I'll go to formula if needs be... Any advice will be much appreciated.

I’m breast feeding and also pumping so I can bottle feed with breast milk too and I also think my supply has gone down recently but I don’t know if I think that because she’s drinking more but I’m producing the same amount as before? I feel like I get a lot less from pumping than I did before as well. Hoping there’s a way to increase supply? I could probably pump more often. Do you use a breast pump at all?

Yeah same I don't know how to increase it and I'm in a bit of panic. No I haven't used a breast pump I didn't think I'd need it :(

My supply has been a bit inconsistent so the advice I got was the following: - pump after a feed for 10mins - try power pumping (you can google but basically you try to mimick a cluster feed) - try some supplements ( Goats Rue tincture or tablets, Oats, Brewers Yeast, Flaxseed, Fenugreek, Fennel, Shatavari herb, Mothers Milk Tea, Blessed Milk Thistle tincture or tablets) - If you would like to increase your supply in partnership with breastfeeding, aim to breastfeed responsively at every feed and aim to express at least 4 times per day in between breastfeeding - Morn, Afternoon, Eve Power pump and Night - make sure you breastfeed or express overnight as that's when you get the best supply

Coconut water helps increase the supply, skin to skin can help x

Hey, my understanding is that breast milk composition changes so baby doesn’t necessarily need more volume if that makes sense. Would definitely reach out to your local infant feeding team (usually via health visitor) and ask to speak to a lactation consultant x

My midwife explained that the first 4 weeks, your body works harder to produce milk. Once baby has a pattern with their breastfeeding, the body naturally regulates to their needs which stops the feel of a full boob (or engorgement). This will subside so doesn’t necessarily mean the supply has been reduced/dropped. Your Let Down will also settle. I also read this on Le Leche League and Medela website.
