What? What do you mean about the weighing scale? Using one of them double sided ones that you put the weights on one side and food on the other? Does he have a foundation on maths? Numbers and bonds to 20? My 3.5 yr old is obsessed with number blocks and has learnt his bonds etc for most numbers up to 20.

Number blocks in good for learning maths. For weight if you can get one the old weight scales are good and just bake and cook using them. I was helping my nan from the age of 2 bake cakes and I knew what each weight was after a while. I enjoyed eating the bakes with her after too. Using real life within mathematics always helps. At 4 a lot of their math knowledge comes from real life objects. You could count toy animals. Grouping is one of the simplest forms of counting. Aka 3 hoops, in 1 hoop ypu have 2 which you count separately and in the other you have say 3. You then group them together in the 3rd hoop and count all together.

I haven’t posted about this specifically yet but you may be interested in following my Instagram page which is advice about how to help children develop the skills they need to be ready for school @ready.for.school https://www.instagram.com/ready.for.school?igsh=dnBma3Zxd2ZwbTVm&utm_source=qr Regarding the weighing scales, which type are you using?
