Heavy menstrual cycle 😫

11 months postpartum and I'm rolling into my 5th month of menstruation (after 16 months without one). Anyway, my cycle has been super duper heavy these past few months and I feel like I'm back in 5th grade learning how to upkeep myself all over again. I'm 35 and I'm still waking up in a puddle of mess in my bed and changing underwear 2x a day because it gets everywhere. Tampons don't do squat for me and I'm wearing those heavy flow overnight pads during the day. Also changing twice the first 3 days of my period. Geez šŸ™„ like wtf My OB/GYN isn't much help I feel. Like I've had to message her twice in 3 months about it and she says it's perfectly normal.. I feel like I need a second opinion. Anyone struggling with a heavy ass flow too during postpartum?

This happened to me after my 4th baby, the only thing that fixed it was getting on birth control

Yes my period is a lot heavier than it used to be but I had my tubes out during my last csection and I read (after I had it done) that having your tubes out can cause heavier periods. I'm not sure if I would have done it if I'd known that before hand.

Totally normal. I gush for a day or 2 and then it’s like I’ve never had one. Sometime I have cramps but it’s usually just a flood. In the 90s, my mother had the same after she had twins. I remember her saying she would use a tampon and pad at the same time. She had the doctor give her birth control…. Which was helpful for when she hit menopause.
