Difficult nights

My little one started screaming at noght 4 days ago to the point that i cannot easily console him. Only after giving nurofen he settles, tried teething powders, gels, anbesol liquid- nothing helped. I ended up giving 2 doses of nurofen per night for the past 4 nights. I assume this is due to teething however how long can i keep giving nurofen? If this continues for weeks? His milk intake also dropped, instead of 210ml he takes 100-120ml per feed, he just refuses the rest of the bottle. Also giving one small meal a day so know it's not because he is weaned. I brestfed my first baby, and during teething i remember i was breastfeeding much more frequently for soothing perhaps.

It could be 8 month sleep regression starting early if ur baby is hitting milestones a little earlier then they usually start regressions a little earlier as well. My baby has definitely hit 8 month sleep regression n it's exhausting waking up a lot more in night won't sleep anywhere but my arms, super clingy. If no other teething stuff it's probably not teething n it's more likely that the nurofen is just making him drowsy enough to stop fighting sleep. If u look back to ur 4 month sleep regression and see if the behaviour is similar. This one will be worse tho because the skills they r learning with this one r much bigger then at 4 months x

@Willow i think he is in pain hence the screaming. He does not yet sit independently nor crawl. I do not think this is a sleep regression as he does not sleep in my arms nor can be consoled.

You should swap between neurofen and Panadol don’t keep giving him neurofen every 3-4 hours because it’s bad for them. Alternate between 2 different painkillers so there’s a big time gap between neurofens. Also don’t give it to him on an empty stomach. X

My baby just went through teething and cut through a week and a half ago and reading ur post was like reading my own post about teething

My son has been exactly the same the last few nights so I’ve had to give Nurofen through the night too as the powders and gel wasn’t touching it! He’s also not drinking his 210ml bottles and only drinking about 120ml each feed! I definitely think it’s their teeth! Xx

@Sera Kay ✨ how long did it take for it to cut from this point? X

It took just over 1 week for them to cut
