I am also confused 😅 I was talking to my husband about how to count the right way the other day lol
i think the app is wrong, not you😭i had the same thing, but i’ve counted it in blocks of four weeks, always ! that’s what the health visitor said so i don’t trust the app 😌
What date was your baby born? The 26th of the month? If so, then when you reach the 26th April, your baby will be 4 months. Or if baby was born on 4th of the month, then baby will be 4 months in May. We done this when my Mam had my little sister (19 year age gap haha) we were counting in weeks for ages I.e. she was born 12th October but she hit 4 weeks (technically 1 month) at 9th November. And we really confused ourselves with this as we didn't notice what we'd done until we got to like 3 months old and she was actually younger! (We were telling people she was 12 weeks or 3 months old, when in reality, although she was actually 12 weeks at that time; she wouldn't of actually turned 3 months until that following week). Hopefully that makes sense! So yeah if you've been counting as weeks that's probably why. I tend to follow the '2' rule when I had my own children. Count days until 2 weeks, count weeks until 2 months, count months until 2 years then count years x
Also, the longer you count in weeks, the bigger the gap will get, hence why I stopped counting weeks between 2-3 months old and then just focused on when they hit their birthdate each month and counted in months x
Wait what ?
I stopped counting in weeks when she hit 16 weeks, my girl was born 16th November so she’s 5 months old today. There’s not 4 weeks in every month so it’s hard to go by every 4 weeks. 4 weeks is 28 days and obviously most months are either 30 or 31 days. If we went by weeks baby would be 12 months old a while before we actually hit their birthday so weeks goes by the day they were born and months go by the date they were born so my girl was born on a Saturday, she hits a new week old every Saturday but a new month on the 16th of every month x
Months are counted by the day of the month. When they're young, usually before 4 months, age gets counted by weeks. I had the same confusion when mine was nearing 4 months
