April section mums

How are you finding recovery honestly? I am really struggling at night with the pain, moving from laying to sitting when needing a wee etc. it’s like pulling/burning on one side? X

I had to stop my strong pain killers as they were causing such painful constipation that I was actually in tears. But recovery is slow and painful, feel a pulling sensation and the wound is spotting from the strain when I was constipated x

I'm the same, I was told by a midwife that it may be more painful on one side as that's where the surgeon would have stitched it or something but once I'm up for a few seconds the pain goes away x

Have you got a pregnancy pillow? Maybe sleeping in slightly elevated position with pill behind you could help? Do you have anything to support you pulling yourself up to sitting my your arms (with less pressure on core)?

I'm finding recovery very slow and tough, both physically and mentally. The sitting hurts, the post surgery swelling in my feet makes standing worse. And so so tired

Feeling the same as you all, pain is so intense making it hard to walk sit stand. I find getting someone to pull me up really helps to avoid using my muscles. I’m on top of the painkillers but still it’s crazy. The gas build up hurts SO much also, it has me in tears at points. I’ve heard it gets better after day 10 so counting down till then x

I'm slowly getting there. Still quite a bit of pain but I've managed to walk about 5 minutes outside before I had to turn back, I'm 15 days post section. Recovery feels really slow but definitely improving just not as quick as I thought it would 😔

I'm 2 days post op and sore. Absolutely knackered with hardly any sleep 😴 and still not passed anything apart from pee. Lots of blood clots etc.

I had my section last night and I’m really struggling 😭 I’m allergic to codeine so they’ve only been able to give me paracetamol and now I can’t have any as I’m over the dosage so I’m just having deal with the pain it’s awful

I had my section today. And once the back anesthetic wore off I knew about it. Taking all the drugs I am allowed to. The oramorph is the best . Had my catheter out a couple hours ago and stood up for the first time. So painful and getting back into bed was horrendous too. Not looking forward to the healing process at all. But we can do this ladies. 💪 we have to too! Xx ❤️

I’m 12 days post section and feel pretty much normal now, I slept upright on loads of pillows for about 7 nights so I didn’t have to lie flat and now have no pain at all when lying down and getting up, definitely get some pillows and when sitting up sit up sideways, I still have a slight sting on one side and the midwife said it’s just everything fusing back together inside

@Deepa peppermint tea! Wether it was in my head or not, it helped so much with the gas pain
