Team no sleep

My little one (7weeks old today) who used to go down happily in her crib in a swaddle bag for 3-4hr blocks now hates the swaddle bag with her arms in and we're lucky if we get 15 mins of her being in the next to me. I feel like I am failing and like every decision is on me when I have no idea what I'm doing either 😭 any tips or notes of solidarity very much welcomed x

No tips but my little one also doesn’t sleep in his next to me! He’s got bad reflux so it’s obviously uncomfortable for him but I’m tired and the no sleep is getting HARD! Team no sleep through and through! X

Team so sleep also! @Hayley im with you on the reflux my little boy is exactly the same will only sleep if im holding him. Day/night so so exhausting! X

My little ones the same, she used to be so good for going fo sleep in her next to me, now she wants to be constantly on me at night. And if she isn’t she screams 😅

My little boy used to be the same so the health visitor told us to use the Moses basket inside the next to me crib and it worked x

How old are your little ones? Mine is 10 weeks today, he’s been like this since he was born. Really really struggling x

@Mercedes we had the doctors today and he’s been given some infant gaviscon so hoping that helps soon enough! It’s a rough road, it’s 3am he’s asleep on me and looks as though I’m just going to be sat here until he’s in a deep enough sleep to try to move him 😅 which I know won’t work 🥴😂 x

My little one is 6 weeks x

Same boat here 🙋🏼‍♀️ Our little boy (8 weeks) loved sleeping in his carrycot but he’s about outgrow so we’ve been making the transition to the next to me. We realised he would sleep well in it in a swaddle bag but he’s now also too big for the ones we have, to be swaddled arms in. we’ve tried him in a sleep bag tonight but he’s been unsettled every time I’ve put him down 😭 either wanting to sleep on me or wanting a tiny amount from a bottle. Bizarrely he settles better in his actual cot in the nursery, but this means either one of us having to sleep in there full time (we’ve got a single bed in there) or having to leave him on his own which I’m not happy doing at all. So no words of advice, just here to say I feel you and I Just wish he’d let me get a couple of hours together tonight 😂x

@Hayley hopefully the gaviscon works for you. It didn’t for us unfortunately just made him constipated. We are on meds now lansoprazole. I’m glad it’s not just me going through it though with the holding them to sleep 😭 it doesn’t work for us either xx

@Mercedes doctor said give it 3 weeks and if not working we’ll try something else! I can’t believe I complained about difficulty sleeping during pregnancy 😅

No tips, my little one is 7 weeks too and not sleeping at all! No chance of him going in his next to me either x

8 week old and I’m the same, will sleep on us fine for hours but as soon as he’s put down anywhere day or night he wakes up and reflux kicks in and he’s awake and uncomfortable! We’ve tried swaddled, tilting his cot, holding upright after feeds but no difference!

Hey, do you also have a Moses basket? My girl (7 weeks on Thursdays) loves being in her Moses basket and sleeps nicely in it. We have a next to me for when we are up stairs but she does get long durations of sleep in her basket. Also have you tried the sleeping bags instead of the swaddle bags?

@Hayley gaviscon works for us, we were also given lactulose for constipation I give him half a dose twice a day and it seems to help, if you don’t have that you could try giving colief if he starts to get constipated. We knew the gaviscon was working within the first 24 hours x

Hey girls, my little one is 10 weeks old now, and around 6/7 weeks she stopped sleeping for 3-4 hours at night and was waking up every one to 2 hours, it’s still the same now. 💕 we’re in it together.💕

I would maybe try a normal sleeping bag so baby can have arms out. I know both my kids haven’t wanted swaddled and love having their arms out. My boy sleeps with his arms above his head. I’d definitely try that and then go from there x

@Jess that’s good to know thank you, did you give the gaviscon with every feed? X

Going through the exact same thing! Little one is so needy and will not settle unless he’s on one of us! It’s hard and tiring but we persevere x

@Hayley we’re still on it now, looks like it’ll be right up until we start weaning unfortunately 😔 I usually give it every other feed (I also have had to up the teat size on the feed with the gaviscon) but will also play it by how LB is, sometimes I’ll go every two feeds and sometimes every feed it depends on how he’s been passing wind and if he shows any symptoms of reflux. I try to keep it to 5 sachets a day but will sometimes go to the maximum of 6 x

Hey i’m team no sleep as well, my daughter will only settle with her dummy in but is determined at spitting it out so i find myself falling asleep with my hand in the next to me holding it in🫠

Dummy?
