My LG is/was exactly the same, been contact napping since she was born! have to stand up to rock her, she knew as soon as I sat down😂 she’s always been quite a big baby too and I’m only 5ft 2 myself and it was absolutely killing my back and shoulder I physically couldn’t do it so I’d sit down still rocking and patting her and let her whinge it out until she fell asleep, which eventually she did then it got easier. It’s not like I’d abandoned her somewhere she was still in my arms and I was still comforting her, just sat down instead 😂 the past couple weeks I’ve been doing naps that aren’t on me, we have one contact nap a day now which is usually the last nap, others are in her cot, pushchair or car just to try get her used to the fact that she can fall asleep in other places other than my arms and im still here x
imo it's okay for them to cry. it's not like you're dumping them in the cot and leaving them, you're stil there and still holding them!! we rocked our first to sleep and my back was in agony so I totally feel your pain!!! ruth the health visitor on tiktok has some great tips around sleep associations!
