Just don’t forget to breathe. Stay relaxed. Take books and something so you can watch Netflix. Snacks!!!
It’s induction day for me too!!! can’t not wait to meet my baby boy but also a bit nervous ! Hoping it’s a smooth journey for us 🙌❤️
Good luck and let us know all your progress and experiences 🤩
Me too! I’m only 38+5 but had some reduced movements! I’m nervous my body isn’t ready!! They tried on Saturday and my cervix was completely closed so not holding out much hope!! Good luck everyone xxx
Induction day for me too! So nervous 😬 but hoping we can meet our baby boy soon! Good luck ❤️
Good luck ladies- I’m not induced until next Friday at 39 + 6. Hope all goes well and looking forward to hearing your stories. Not long til our babies are in our arms xx
Good luck, hope everything goes well, and you get to meet baby soon ❤️ xx
How’s everyone doing? I’ve got the pessary in but currently not feeling anything - my cervix was completely closed and high when they put it in though! xx
@Alex stay positive, I was induced on the weekend. My cervix wasn’t dilated and was towards the back also, so I thought it would be a whole. Pessary was in only 12 hours before I gave birth in 12 mins.. slept through contractions and then they ramped up for an hour before being 6/7cm and 12 mins later my little one was born. Just get plenty of rest while you can before the pains kick in 🥰 good luck, you’ve got this! Xx
@Alex I've skipped pessary stage as was already around 3-4cm so they've just broke my waters if things don't get moving on there own they will put me onto a drip to kick contractions off! I hope things start heading in the right direction for you xx
@Alex I had to have a pessary too because my cervix was too posterior to get the balloon in. After 5 hours of having the pessary in my contractions were too intense and frequent so they had to take it out and give me an injection to slow them down (now they are still frequent but very mild). My cervix was still quite high so now waiting to get assessed again and if it's still quite high they'll let me rest till tomorrow morning and start the induction again 😪 Hope it's going better for you ladies xx
@Kiara that's great! I hope your contractions started on their own and your labour is progressing well xx
@Maria this sounds super stressful!! Hope you can get some rest?! I’m trying to sleep but it’s not happening! I think I’ve got the opposite problem - nothing happening to me!! Sending positive thoughts for the morning! xx
@Kiara how’s it going?! xx

@Alex oh no, that sounds quite frustrating too- we are getting the opposite effects! I hope your body is slowely reacting to it and tomorrow you wake up to a nice surprise and are dilated enough to move onto your next step 🤞🙏 I feel a bit frustrated that I've gone through all this pain for nothing but hoping now I can het some rest and that tomorrow will be a better day. Let know how you are getting on tomorrow, good luck!
Gosh.... sounds like it's not a easy process 😕 good luck ladies 🥰
Don’t forget to ask for an epidural if you can’t cope with the pain!!! As I belive the contractions are more intense
I was booked in yesterday too, but didn't get a bed till 5, then had to wait for shift change at 7, then ward got too busy and they put everything on hold until this morning. Just had my 1st 6hr gel, waiting for examination to tell me next steps
@Kate did they say if you were dilated before they put the gel in?! xx
Hope all goes well xx
I was about 2cm I think? Been that way for a week or so though, through 3 sweeps 😅
Anyone had their babies yet? 🩵🩷 my induction isn’t going well, on my last gel and they aren’t hopefully they’ll be able to break my water… which leave me with do I have 24 hours off and go again or give in and have a c section? 😞 xx
Aw, sorry to hear that. After my 1st gel my cervix was favourable for breaking my waters, but the wards were super busy and I wasn't a priority (understandably). Waters broke by themselves a couple of minutes to midnight, and Baby boy born 1:15 with just gas and air. My 2nd child, so it went quick! Glad I was in the right place at the right time. Hope things go OK for you. The lady opposite me on induction elected for a 24hr wait, and the Dr was telling her that even thought it might feel like time doing nothing, the time itself allows for more ripening to happen so you'll be in a better position going in for no.3
@Alex as long as baby happy, keep trying to induce labour rather than c.section. can't they try a different method? Like pessary etc
I’ve had the pessary and 3 gels and nothing! Feeling very deflated :( they are trying the balloon now and then think I’ve exhausted all my options! xx
@Alex sounds so frustrating..... feel for you. I'm 40wks tomorrow and they offered induction. Just not sure 😕 I think induction definitely works better once cervix softer and more ready. With my first I went to 42wks before my waters broke. Even then after a 2 day labour, I needed a hormone drip to get me more dilated.
Hey ladies I hope all of you are doing okay sorry for not replying! My little lady showed up at 00:42 on the 17th weight a tiny 5lb9oz induction journey for me went very smoothly with waters broken and a hormone drip being all it took! I'm sorry it didn't work quiet that well for you guys but hope your well on the way or babies have arrived now ❤️
@Alex hope your OK x
My main thing is just don’t forget you have a voice! I was quite subdued with my first and felt I wasn’t listened to, and as a result some procedures happened that I wasn’t comfortable with. Remember your body your choice! Bring some entertainment in - my last induction took 3 midwife shifts 🥲 but some people it’s much quicker. All the snacks, plenty of liquids and then bring some pain killers for after as sometimes ward is overrun and takes a while to get top up of your paracetamol/ibuprofen from midwife. And most of all soak it in!
