Swimming

I want to take my 12 week old swimming for the first time but super nervous as he’s a huge screamer after the bath (loves it in the water but hates getting out even if towel all warmed up) Just wondering if anyone had any tips they have found when going swimming What’s yours wearing ect ?

Sorry no tips but just wanted to resonate with you as I feel exactly the same 🙈. I have put off swimming as I’m just not sure about the screaming and how he will feel!

My baby screams after bath but with swimming we had an amazing experience! Maybe because the pool was quite hot so he wasn’t bothered at all!

I take two towels for LO. I put one by the pool to wrap around him as soon as we leave the pool, then use the other one to dry him off. When he is towel dried, I use a bit of talc powder to make sure he's completely dry x

My husband took our girl swimming at almost 15 weeks to a set class. She absolutely loved it. She was unhappy getting out. He said all the other parents had the other parent with them to help out of the pool..so maybe see if someone else can go with you? The changing rooms where he was were very small and made it very difficult for him. We got her a little splashers wetsuit to keep her warm with a swim nappy and happy nappy.

I feel the same 😵‍💫

You can get those fleece lined swim suits that keep them warm in and out the water! I used them for my little one for her first time swimming and she seemed to love it! But I also agree with the two towels to make sure they’re super warm!
