@Ashley im concerned my kids will get parasites puppy’s do lick There butt and not sure if my son was playing with the puppy and not washing his hands. I have an issue with germs and it scares me. Any little symptom I feel I think it’s the worse. I have a runny nose and think I have a parasite! And it’s very very unlikely probably just allergies 😂💀
I have dogs and I don't think that is really how parasites work, at least not in terms of dogs. The worst thing that could happen would be worms and like I said, unless your son licked the puppies butt or played in his poo that is very unlikely to happen. I guess it is possible that the puppy could like its butt and transfer an egg to your son that way, but it is very, very unlikely.
@Ashley I guess I’ll have to wait and find out or call his pediatrician to at least be at ease ! Especially having my 4 month old.
Yeah if you are really worried definitely give them a call to put your mind at ease but I'm sure everything is fine. There are so many babies that interact with puppies all the time and you never hear anything like my baby got worms from my puppy. Lol
Puppies can be tested at any time for intestinal parasites it just takes a stool sample. Just keep them separate if possible. It don’t think it’s super common for a dog to infect a person but it’s possible. Your mom just has to take the dog to the vet. Most puppies get dewormed every few weeks when they’re young but i guess it depends where she got the dog from
Unless he licked the puppies butt or played around in it's poop he is fine. Children who grow up in households with pets are actually healthier than those that do not, so it might actually be a benefit to him. What is your concern?
