Naps for little one impossible

I have a 23 month old and a two month old. My tiny one never seems to get the sleep that she needs through the day because she is continuously woken up by her big brother. The only way she seems to sleep through his noise is if she is on my lap, but obviously with a nearly 2 year-old running around, I can’t just sit with her all day. She doesn’t like being in the baby carrier yet I’m hoping that might change. She’ll always wake up after a short time if she’s in the pram or the car It’s just an impossible situation, isn’t it?!! Certainly feels like someone’s needs always have to be sacrificed😞 My older boy doesn’t go to nursery or anything And we don’t have regular help from family so it’s just me constantly trying to balance and juggle everything. Anyone out there got any tips?

Have you tried a stretchy wrap instead of a carrier? My newborn slept really well in mine and did all napping in that for months

I could have written this about my current situation, the only thing that’s working now that I’m trying is letting my newborn sleep in the bedroom with the camera while toddler is downstairs making noise. So I just put him upstairs in his bed for most naps or if I can sit with him, then I keep him downstairs with us. 😂

@Rachel that’s a good idea thanks! I know I have one somewhere in a box from when my first was tiny, I’ll give it a go xx

@Audrey yeah I’ve thought about this, I’m not sure my toddler will stay quiet enough even to put the little one down but it’s something I’m willing to try! I guess I could plop toddler in front of Miss Rachel whilst putting little one down!

I was having this exact problem. There is an 11 month age gap between my 2 and my little girl would constantly wake my little boy up. We’ve got in to the routine of putting my little boy down for a nap in the morning for about an hour in his cot so his sister doesn’t disturb him and then they both have a nap in the afternoon for about 2 hours. They mess around sometimes before they actually go to sleep but they eventually do (they’re in the same bedroom) 🤣xx

It is tricky, especially as until 6m they have to be in the same room as you, so you can't even leave in another room which is quieter

I put my youngest to nap in his next to me so he can get decent naps I know it’s not really recommended but I have an owlet and a camera and it’s what works for everyone
