Baby not napping in daytime

I have an 8 week old son and some days he doesn’t nap attal and if he does it’s between 15-40 mins tops. I see so many mums on tiktok saying how baby’s wake windows should be 60 minutes maximum but it’s currently 11:15 and my baby has been awake since 8. He’s had a bottle, nappy changes, top up bottle, cuddles and he’s just not showing any signs of napping or being tired. He’s not fussy he’s just wide awake. Is it vital that your baby sleeps every 60 mins throughout the day? It’s really stressing me out that he’s not having naps

It’s definitely not vital my son was the same he didn’t start taking proper naps until now and he’s almost one and yet even now sometimes naps are 30 mins tops. As long as baby is happy don’t feel like anything is wrong they’re just a alert baby that you get to interact with and enjoy that time

@Antonia that’s reassuring to know. I see all over social media and websites not to let your baby stay awake for longer than 60 mins. My son is very alert and just wants to do tummy time and play x

My baby is 8 weeks now, she doesn’t nap during the day it is very tiring. Her longest nap “if she naps” is 15-30 min 💔🥲

As long as he’s happy and healthy he’s ok. But if you want him to nap more in the day then play around with different sleep environments so white noise, no white noise, dark room, bright room, swaddled or not loads of different things he might find extra comfort in something you haven’t discovered yet which is perfectly fine. It’s a journey and I’m sure as he grows he’ll crack it and will be a pro napper xx
