I love babies but i wish i could sleep more

Does anyone else feel so sad about the fact that the funnest years of baby life, you can never truly enjoy coz u just have no sleep?? I loved being with my nieces and nephews when ghey were little but i didnt have to feed them and stay awake all night with them! Like i really want to stop my 3 yos nursery and do loads with him and my 4 mo, but he was off sick last week and i couldn’t wait for him to go back at 730 am on monday just so i could have a 3 hour uninterrupted sleep!! 🙏 when he is home he just plays alone a lot or he watches too much tv to give me a break or while i feed n change the baby, at mursery he actually has activities to help him develop! Plus we dont get out much coz i dont drive as i dont sleep and there is v little walking distance to do in my area and even if there was, i dont feel safe with him walking and baby on me pram as roads are kinda busy Also yes i could just forgo sleep but my toddler is an awful sleeper- like nightmares til 1 am and then wakes 5am. And i get migraines eventually with no sleep. And 4 mo is great sleeper but starts readying their morning poop after 3am so 🫠

My aunt gave me some advice and this has stayed with me . She told me once you have kids forget about sleep😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. I know it’s hard but I know it’s only temporary when they get to a certain age the sleep gets so much better so I’m just winging it for now. My son is 10 months

I’m always completely jealous of people who’s babies sleep through the night from being very little, I really hope they appreciate how lucky they are. My daughter didn’t sleep through until well over three years old, I would love to experience the baby and toddler years without also being completely exhausted and sleep deprived.

And then they tell new moms to get as much rest as you can or “sleep when the baby sleeps!” but then how are you supposed to get anything else done? Like pumping, cleaning, etc..? 😭😭 it’s impossible those first few months 🥴

@Lisa you could also end up with a baby that sleeps better (3 hour stretches in cot) but gets their morning poop ready from midnight onwards now so shouts and moans as they fart and puts themselves back to sleep after 😂🫠
