Back story… I had a miscarriage in March 2023 at 7 weeks. A chemical in February 2025. I did PdG test last cycle and it was showing low. So I got a phone appointment with my GP today asking for a progesterone blood test that had to be at 7dpo. I’m 5DPO today, and 7dpo for my luck is on Friday bank holiday. There’s appointment for blood test tomorrow, so my options are: wait until next cycle (if not pregnant this one) or go private. GP can’t give me a prescription at any point. From what the doctor said, as it’s not their specialty they can’t do much and hands are tied. Just so frustrating and annoying

I’ve had a progesterone test done privately (at home kit), I’ve had it done 4 times now. My luteal phase is 12 days, so I timed it on 6 DPO. Progesterone reaches its peak 6-8 DPO, so if you’d have a test today it would still confirm whether you have ovulated or not.

@Boglárka which test did you use? Pdg? I was looking for blood test and they didn’t have any appointments available

@Pam no, I don’t trust Pdg. I did blood test, bought it from onedaytest. I’ve used a lot of their tests, did full panel, HCG a few times, Estrogen, etc. They send you the kit by post, pretty fast. It’s basically a prick test and super easy to do, the instructions are very clear. You take your blood in the morning, then post your sample back by 10am. I’ve posted mine yesterday, they’ve received it this mornings and 3 hrs later I’ve got the result.

This month is late for you now to use them, but you could order your kits for next month. They’ve had it under offer, I think for £26. If you subscribe (minimum number of samples x3 with a subscription), it’s even cheaper.

That’s good to know. Thank you.
