I thought people would be moving out of the US because of everything that is going on politically over there. đ€·đ»ââïž
A legal resident was just wrongfully deported and imprisoned at CEDOT. Trump is angling to have "homegrown criminals" aka citizens deported and imprisoned in the same way. So I'd urge some caution
@Pam it's not easy for us to leave. Almost half of Americans don't have a passport, and migrating to places like the EU is complicated because we are honestly underskilled compared to what they're looking for. The majority of people are living pay check to pay check. Besides, some of us are dedicated to fighting the good fight.
I donât think this is the time to do this đ«Ł
@Raqi I totally get that. I was trying to say that this is a time where people would like to leave instead of moving in⊠sad times!
If you're excited about it that's fantastic! Most lawyers give consults. Maybe look one up in the area you hope to move and get some info. It will take time though so try to be patient đ
I wouldnât move there
Personally I'd avoid the US with everything going on. Pick somewhere in Europe or Scandinavia
Please do not come here. It is not safe.
Girl donât come here. Basic needs are unaffordable. Working families are struggling.
I think you have to apply for student or work visa first. Green card process is a bit more complicated. Sometimes jobs will cover the process or if you have a family/partner sponsor you
Why!?!? Why?!?! I would take my chances in the wilderness before trump.
Why?! God no! I describe the US as an unregulated shithole
I love living in the US but I'm also a 3rd generation born here citizen, I know it's harder for immigrants for sure.

Err. I didnât read anywhere in OPâs post where they asked for opinions. If you havenât got advice scroll on. Itâs that simple You can check out the US gov website on routes you can take. Your best off to see an attorney who can guide you to the best forms and process of getting there. They charge but if youâre serious about it you wonât care. I am born US citizen but live in the UK now. My mom and brother recently moved back last year and so it has been an option me and my partner have considered here and there. For us tho itâs a matter of filling out the petition form and a K1 fiancĂ© visa. Once weâd move on the visa , he can apply for the working visa that is valid 3months while he waits for his green card. A year later he can get a passport and be a permanent US citizen. Iâm not sure about your situation tho and if itâs similar or if you plan to move all on your own. But itâs doable , people move all around the world ! Good luck with everything:)
