Daytime sleeping

Penny is four days old and I’m overthinking her napping already 😅 At night she wakes us around every hour and a half, she’s then breastfed etc all fine. She will feed for around 10-15 mins too. Daytime she’s only feeding for around five mins and sleeping so much, I’m going to try not wake her and see if she wakes herself to feed. Is this normal? For her to be sleepier in the day?

Pretty normal babies at this age don’t know the difference between day and night as their circadian rhythm hasn’t developed - tried to get lots of natural light during the day and keep it dark for bed time :)

She won’t be used to day and nightime , get lots of light in the house during the day and keep it dark at night , she’ll be able to differentiate day and night as you go along

Babies are like cats they sleep like 18 out of 24 hours of the day the first month

Most babies have their days and nights mixed around when they are born. It takes some adaptation for them to sleep more at night. I loved the "On Becoming Babywise" book. Simply because it helped me know baby's sleep and eat schedule was correct!

It’s normal. It’s also normal to be stressed about it!! Give her lots of natural day light and eventually she will figure it out :)
