Baby won't sleep in pram

Hello you lot! So my boy turns 1 this week. He naps and sleeps well in his cot but will absolutely not nap in his pram at all now. This is a bit tricky as it affects us being able to take him out for the day etc as we either have to run home for nap time or have a really upset, tired baby. Anyone got any hacks/tips or have experienced similar?

My little girl is a great sleeper - we put in a lot of effort to get to this. Nan and grandad came in to London a week ago so we would be out for nap time - I hoped we would get a pram nap in. She only managed a short while. It was my birthday on Thursday and we were in Camden. Did baby sleep? NO. She had 90 mins that morning but she just won’t have a pram nap. She’s very inquisitive and likes to look out and now when I put the snoozeshade over she has a melt down.

Is he facing out? Do you put the hood all the way down? Mine sleeps best in the pram but has to be sitting up and I go to the middle position once he’s asleep. Sometimes he won’t fall asleep with the hood up because he’s too distracted but also can get mad if I pull it down 🫠

My boys the exact same! It’s not ideal but I just make sure I make plans around his nap time (on 1 nap 11-1 usually) if there’s ever a day I need to be out all day he’ll have to make do with car journey naps or go without :/ x

@Hayley mine is a very similar personality so perhaps that's it. He likes to point and chat at passers by and is constantly looking around at things so perhaps he's too stimulated! He can pull his snoozeshade clean off, absolute rascal!

@Tasha yeah he's facing out and we pop the hood right down but he can lift it to peek out. The only time he has ever fallen asleep even fir a second was sitting up so perhaps I'll just stop reclining him

Yes my little man has never liked laying flat while on the move. In the carry cot days, i had to wear him and basically pushed around an empty pram. I do think this weekend has been a struggle to get him to sleep. Maybe because so many people were out for the long weekend so a lot to distract him. He’s definitely a fomo baby
