Anyone else's baby had congestion since birth?

My baby is 10 weeks old, she went 6cm - birth in 18 minutes. She swallowed alot of meconium and had a lot of mucus and has had congestion/been snotty pretty much since birth. I've done saline spray etc but she just can't get it out. She does drink but sometimes has to keep stopping where there's so much snot. Doctors again today so hoping they will do something x

No advice but just a note to say I'm in the same boat.. 8 almost 9 weeks and you can hear how congested she is. Haven't been able to use nasal sprays as she's had a few light nose bleeds and they advised against the sprays and bulb for snot sucking. But she's the same in the sense she needs to stop drinking to breathe at times and my gp just brushes it off

Exactly the same here as soon as he is lying flat the poor thing seems so uncomfortable. I often get so worried about his breathing I lye awake watching him. Baby is tossing and turning often at night. I’m also going back to gp today x

I am in the same situation sometimes it looks like he is choking because he can feed well , during the day it’s ok but at night like around midnight when he wakes up for feeding . I have been to the doctors but same thing he is ok Don’t know what to do

Yep exactly same at first they blamed that he was a c section baby saying it would clear up but still hasn’t and he’s 10 weeks x

Mine is very congested and just been diagnosed with CMPA. (Also had lots of other symptoms though)

Exactly the same here! I went from contractions 7 mins apart to fully dilated in minutes and ended up delivering him myself he came so quickly! He whizzed out. And is defo really congested bless him! I asked the doctor but they just said to use saline spray!

Exactly same issue here baby was delivered in 15 min and has so much congestion and coughing and yellow mucous we’ve been using saline for over a month and nose suction it’s affecting his feeds for sure. Seeing a private consultant today because it’s been too long and the cough is getting bad too.

@Isabelle do you mind me asking what cmpa symptoms you had I spoke to my gp about this and he didn’t want to know

@Chloe so alongside being VERY congested, he also has mucus in his poo, also had some specks of blood in it as well, very uncomfortable after feeding and a lot of gas, also reflux

A doctor told me to only use snot sucker a tiny bit before feeds to make it easier, and it’s okay to use olbas oil in a diffuser while babies not in the room. Also have a super hot shower or bath and have baby in the room as steam helps. X

My daughter went from 4cm to birth in 24 minutes. We're just looking into cows milk allergy atm. Congestion is one of her symptoms x
